AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND LAW CLINIC

Welcome to www.law-clinic.co.uk ("Website"), operated by Law Clinic Limited ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Website or use our services.

These Terms are an agreement ("Agreement") between you and Law Clinic Limited and cover your use of the information, software, products, and services made available through to www.law-clinic.co.uk (the "Website"). By using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy.

This Agreement governs any use of the Website as a guest, fee-paying member, or otherwise. Any reference to "Law Clinic" is a reference to Law Clinic Limited (a Company registered in England & Wales).

1. USER RESPONSIBILITIES

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the Website and for ensuring any contact details you provide us with are correct and up to date. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access the Website through your internet connection are aware of these Terms and that they comply with them.

Simple Answers and Initial Consultations: Simple Answers and Initial Consultations provided through our platform do not constitute legal guidance Except as part of a formal Engagement, no duty of care will be established (either in tort or in contract) between you and the Lawyer we connect you with.

Right to Reject Questions: We reserve the right to reject questions you ask without providing a reason. Typically, reasons for rejection include:

​

 a)  We do not handle that type of legal work.

 b)  Currently, no available Lawyer specialises in that area.

 c)  Inability or unwillingness to pay for the required work.

 d)  Resource constraints or time limitations prevent us from undertaking the work.

 e)  Ethical, regulatory, or legal considerations, such as suspicions of money laundering, conflicts of interest, or insurance      issues.

 f)  The complexity or difficulty of the case exceeds our current capabilities or expertise.

7. TRIAL OFFERS AND PAID MEMBERSHIPS

At Law Clinic Limited, we provide trial offers and memberships under the following terms:

a) Trial Offers:

Law Clinic Limited offers trial periods for limited use of our services ("Trial Offers") to new customers. By starting a Trial Offer, you agree that the Trial Offer is a one-off purchase for the specified period. At the end of the Trial Offer period, you will not be automatically enrolled in a paid membership or charged any further fees. If you wish to continue using our services beyond the Trial Offer or access additional services, you must separately purchase a membership or repurchase the services.

b) Membership Renewal and Cancellation:

Since Trial Offers do not automatically transition into paid memberships, there will be no recurring charges. Your Trial Offer will end after the specified period, and no further payments will be processed. If you decide to purchase a membership or repurchase services after the Trial Offer, you will need to do so manually through our website. It is your responsibility to manage and update your payment information as necessary if you choose to repurchase or subscribe to our services

c) Other Trials and Services:

Periodically, Law Clinic Limited may offer trials for certain products and services, each governed by specific terms and conditions detailed in the offer. Additionally, please note that our document review service is not available during trial periods. Refer to our Document Review Terms for more details on this service.

8. SERVICES PROVIDED AND PASSES AVAILABLE

The Client shall select one of the following Packages:

7 DAYS PASS

Price: The Client shall pay the Service Provider a fee of Four Pounds and Ninety-Five Pence (£9.95) for a 7 day pass.

Validity: The services provided shall be valid for a period of seven (7) days from the date of purchase.

​

Services: The Client shall receive access to the following services:

​

 a) Tutorials on the website

​

 b) Templates available on the website

1 MONTH PASS

Price: The Client shall pay the Service Provider a fee of Twenty-Four Pounds and Ninety-Five Pence (£24.95) for the 1 Monthly Pass.

​

Validity: The services provided shall be valid for one (1) month from the date of purchase.

​

Services: The Client shall receive access to the following services:

​

 a) Tutorials on the website

​

 b) Templates available on the website

3 MONTHS PASS

Price: The Client shall pay the Service Provider a fee of Fifty-Four Pounds and Ninety-Five Pence (£54.95) for the 3 Months Pass.

​

Validity: The services provided shall be valid for a period of three (3) months from the date of purchase.

​

Services: The Client shall receive access to the following services:

​

 a) Tutorials on the website

​

 b) Templates available on the website

6 MONTHS PASS

Price: The Client shall pay the Service Provider a fee of Seventy-Four Pounds and Ninety-Five Pence (£74.95) for the 6 Months Pass.

​

Validity: The services provided shall be valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of purchase.

​

Services: Services: The Client shall receive access to the following services:

​

 a) Tutorials on the website

​

 b) Templates available on the website

12 MONTHS PASS

Price: The Client shall pay the Service Provider a fee of Ninety-Four Pounds and Ninety-Five Pence (£94.95) for the 12 Months Pass.

​

Validity: The services provided  shall be valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of purchase.

​

Services: The Client shall receive access to the following services:

​

 a) Tutorials on the website

​

 b) Templates available on the website

The Client understands that they are solely responsible for the payment of all fees and expense.

9. SCAM CHECKER SERVICES

Basic Scam Check

Service Description: This package provides a 15-minute audio/video call to resolve your concerns efficiently and effectively. Our expert team will offer guidance to help you identify potential scams through early-stage resolution and effective communication.

​

Fee: £24.95 (Twenty-four pounds and ninety-five pence).

​

Deliverables: Customers will receive an analysis of the potential scam and a report detailing the identified risks, potentially saving thousands of pounds.

Enhanced Scam Check

Service Description: This package offers a more comprehensive investigation, including a 30-minute audio/video call, review of up to 10 pages of supporting documents, and a bespoke report with our findings and recommendations.

​

Fee: £39.99 (Thirty-nine pounds and ninety-nine pence).

​

Deliverables: Customers will receive a detailed report outlining the findings of the investigation, including a thorough document review and tailored recommendations.

Small Running Title

 a) All service bookings must be made in advance through our designated booking platform.

​

 b) Payment for the selected service package must be made at the time of booking.

​

 c) Services are provided on a one-off payment plan basis.

Scope of Services

 a) The services provided under each package are limited to the duration specified (15 minutes for Basic Scam Check, 30 minutes for Enhanced Scam Check and Free Consult).

​

 b) The scope of the Basic Scam Check includes analysis and reporting of potential scams based on the information provided during the call.

​

 c) The scope of the Enhanced Scam Check includes a comprehensive document review, up to 10 pages, and a detailed report with findings and recommendations.

​

 d) The Free Consult provides initial guidance and direction based on the fact-finding discussion.

Limitations and Disclaimers

 a) The scam checker services are intended to provide guidance and analysis based on the information available at the time of the consultation.

​

 b) Whilst we strive to provide accurate and helpful advice, the final decision on any action rests with the customer.

​

 c) We do not guarantee prevention of financial loss, but we aim to minimise potential risks through our services.

Customer Obligations

 a) Customers must provide accurate and complete information during the consultation.

 

 b) For the Enhanced Scam Check, customers must ensure that supporting documents do not exceed 10 pages.

​

 c)  Customers must adhere to the scheduled time for the audio/video call to ensure the service can be provided efficiently.

10. CANCELLATION POLICY

 a) Cooling-Off Period and Cancellation Rights:

Cooling-Off Period and Cancellation Rights: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (CCRs), if you are a consumer (not acting in a business capacity), you have the right to cancel your agreement with Law Clinic within 14 calendar days from the date of entering into the contract (the "Cooling-Off Period"). During this Cooling-Off Period, you can cancel the agreement without incurring any liability for fees. For cancellation, you have to complete the cancellation form 

 

To exercise your right to cancel during the Cooling-Off Period, you must notify us in writing via email at support@law-clinic.co.uk. You may use the cancellation form provided on the Website or send us a clear written statement of your decision to cancel. Upon cancellation within the Cooling-Off Period, we will refund all payments received from you, including any standard delivery charges, within 14 days from the date we receive your notice of cancellation.

 b) Starting Work during the Cooling-Off Period:

If you request us to begin work before the end of the Cooling-Off Period, you will lose your right to cancel without liability for our fees. If you cancel within the Cooling-Off Period after instructing us to start work, you may be required to pay for the services provided up to the point of cancellation.

 c) Cancellation after the Cooling-Off Period:

If you cancel your purchase after the Cooling-Off Period but before the end of the agreed service period, you will not be entitled to a refund. Once the Cooling-Off Period has expired, all payments made are non-refundable, and no partial refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this period.

11. REFUND POLICY

 a) Refunds within the Cooling-Off Period:

If you cancel within the Cooling-Off Period, you will receive a full refund of all payments made, excluding any charges for work already carried out if you have requested us to start work during this time. All refunds shall be processed to the same payment method used by you to make the payment.

 b) No Refunds after the Cooling-Off Period:

No refunds will be issued under the following circumstances:

  1. Cancellation after the Cooling-Off Period.

  2. Fees for documents requested and received during the service period.

  3. Fees for the use of any additional services provided during the service period.

12. MEMBERSHIP PASSES AVAILABLE

Legal Help Passes Terms and Conditions

Law Clinic Limited offers several membership passes through our website, each designed to provide specific services and benefits. By purchasing any of the passess, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

 a) 7 Days Pass (£9.95, valid for 7 days):

  • This package provides access to tutorials and templates available on our website for (07) days from the date of purchase.

  • The 7 day Pass does not include access to ongoing legal guidance beyond the initial 7-day period.

  • It does not automatically renew and expires after the specified duration unless renewed by the user.

 b) 1 Month Pass (£24.95, valid for 1 month):

  • The Monthly Pass grants access to tutorials, templates, and limited ongoing legal guidance available on our website for (01) month from the date of purchase.

  • It does not automatically renew and expires after the specified duration unless renewed by the user.

 c) 3 Months Pass (£54.95, valid for 3 months):

  • This Pass provides access to tutorials, templates, and ongoing legal guidance available on our website for (03) months from the date of purchase.

  • It does not automatically renew and expires after the specified duration unless renewed by the user.

 d) 6 Months Pass (£74.95, valid for 6 months):

  • The 6 Months Pass includes access to tutorials, templates, ongoing legal guidance, and specific assistance related to pre-action disputes available on our website for (06) months from the date of purchase.

  • It does not automatically renew and expires after the specified duration unless renewed by the user.

 e) 12 Months Pass (£94.95, valid for 12 months):

  • The 12 Months Pass provides comprehensive access to tutorials, templates, ongoing legal guidance, and specialised support related to ongoing litigation available on our website for (12) months from the date of purchase.

    • It does not automatically renew and expires after the specified duration unless renewed by the user.

 f) Additional Terms:

  • Prices are in GBP (£) and inclusive of applicable taxes.

  • Law Clinic reserves the right to modify Passes offerings, prices, and terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.

  • Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and for all activities that occur under their account.

13. SCAM CHECKER SERVICE

 a) Service Description:

​The Scam Checker service is a distinct and separate offering provided by Law Clinic Limited. It is designed to assist users in identifying potential scams and fraudulent activities. This service includes an assessment of the provided information against known scam indicators and patterns. However, it does not guarantee the detection of all potential scams or fraudulent activities.

 b) Availability:

The Scam Checker service is not included with any of our legal help Passes. It is available for purchase as an individual service, separate from any other offerings or memberships.

 c) Service Fee:

Users must pay a specific fee to access the Scam Checker service. The fee is determined based on the scope of the service and is charged separately from any other services or packages. The fee for the Scam Checker service is non-refundable once the service has been rendered.

 d) Scope of Service:

The Scam Checker service provides a review and analysis of information submitted by the user to identify possible scams or fraudulent activity. It includes checking the submitted data against known fraud databases and applying a range of detection methods. The service does not involve in-depth forensic analysis or legal advice and is limited to identifying potential red flags.

 e) No Guarantee:

While Law Clinic strives to provide a thorough assessment, the Scam Checker service does not guarantee the identification of all possible scams or fraudulent activities. Users should exercise caution and seek additional verification from other sources as needed.

 f) User Responsibility:

It is the user's responsibility to ensure that the information submitted for the Scam Checker service is accurate and complete. Law Clinic Limited is not liable for any consequences arising from the use of the Scam Checker service or from any actions taken based on its findings.

  g) Terms of Use:

By purchasing the Scam Checker service, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this section. Any additional terms specific to the Scam Checker service will be communicated at the time of purchase.

14. PROVISION OF EXTERNAL LEGAL ADVICE

Within the scope of these Terms and Conditions, we wish to inform you that if you require legal advice, you may contact us directly. We can facilitate arrangements for legal advice within the scope of our unreserved work or provide a referral if the matter falls outside of our expertise.

 

Please note that any choice to proceed with legal advice from our consultant solicitors or a referred third party will be at your discretion and responsibility. Law Clinic Limited shall not be liable for any decisions made or actions taken by you based on the advice received from these external sources. It is your responsibility to ensure that the legal services provided by our consultant solicitors or any referred third party meet your specific needs and requirements.

 

Should we refer your matter to one of our trusted partner law firms, we want to be transparent about our business practices and inform you that Law Clinic Limited may receive a commission or referral fee from the law firm for the referral.

 

This referral does not increase the cost of the services provided to you by the law firm, nor does it affect our commitment to acting in your best interests at all times. Our decision to refer your matter to a particular law firm is based solely on our professional judgement regarding the firm's ability to competently address your legal needs and is not influenced by the existence of a commission or referral arrangement.

 

We ensure that all referrals are made with your consent and in accordance with our regulatory obligations, prioritising your best interests and the quality of legal representation you receive. By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you acknowledge and consent to the possibility that we may receive a commission or referral fee in the event we refer your matter to an external law firm.

 

Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding this practice, please do not hesitate to contact us.

15. FAILURE TO PROVIDE PAYMENTS

If you fail to provide the full payment for a one-time purchase with Law Clinic Limited, the following terms will apply:

 a) Cancellation Due to Non-Payment:

If the required payment is not received by the due date, Law Clinic Limited will consider this non-payment as notice of cancellation of the purchase. As a result, we reserve the right to cancel your order and terminate any associated services immediately.

 b) Access to Services:

If we are unable to process the payment for your one-time purchase, access to the purchased services will be suspended until the payment issue is resolved. Please note that no services will be provided, and your order will be considered invalid if payment is not completed.

16. USER ACCOUNT

To access specific features of the Law Clinic Limited website, you may need to create a user account. By creating an account, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

 a) Account Security:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.

  • You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether authorised by you or not.

  • Law Clinic Limited shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account and password.

 b) Unauthorised Use:

  • Law Clinic Limited reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the website if we believe that your account security has been compromised or if fraudulent activity is suspected.

  • Law Clinic Limited reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account at our discretion, without prior notice, if we believe that you have violated these Terms of Service or engaged in any conduct that may harm Law Clinic Limited or its users.

  • Law Clinic Limited will handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By creating an account, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

 f) Compliance:

  • By creating an account, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding your use of the Law Clinic Limited website and services.

17.  USER ACCOUNT

 b) Fee-Paying Members:

Law Clinic Limited's liability to you for any loss or damage is limited to damages equal to the subscription fee received by Law Clinic Limited for the twelve-month subscription period prior to the date on which the liability arose. Under this paragraph:

  • "Law Clinic Limited's liability" includes that of any company in our group and our and their respective agents, employees, subcontractors.

  • "You" includes any other party claiming through you.

  • "Loss or damage" includes any losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising in connection with the use of the website, whether under this agreement or other agreement, or as a result of any misrepresentation, misstatement, or tortious act or omission, including negligence.
